Scottish Heavy Events

The Antigonish Highland Society is honoured to present the opportunity for youth, ages 5 to 12, to get involved in the 161st Antigonish Highland Games. Tìr Nan Òg is a field event that introduces young Gaels and non-Gaels alike to a number of athletic activities that hold Scottish cultural significance, such as caber toss, tug-a-war, track and field etc.

Participants will be divided by age groups and will stick together as they go station to station trying each activity. Each station will be led be a volunteer who will keep track of participants’ results. There will be an award ceremony and family picnic to follow.

This will be held on July 10th at Columbus Field, Antigonish. Gates open at 8am and start time will be at 9am till 11:30am. There is a registration fee of $5 and it will prompt you to pay after you complete the form. Registration will open on Monday, June 8th at 10:00AM. Space is limited to a maximum of 250 children. This event is not exclusive to children from Antigonish, nor is Celtic ancestry required. All are welcome! No prior experience needed.
