The Highland Bike Race

We are thrilled to announce that after over 10 years, we are bringing back the Highland Bike Race!!!

This is a tradition that began all the way back in 1898, however the logistical challenges it presented made its traditional route, around Cape George, very complicated to manage. As a result, it was discontinued for many years, but fortunately the team at The Keppoch decided to step up and bring this time honored event back!!!

They are hosting the first ever “Fiddler’s Fondo”, so named after Fondo MacDonald, a legendary fiddler from the Keppoch. This race will offer a variety of routes, ensuring that every cyclist can find a race that suits their ability. It promises to be an action packed ride, and we can’t wait to see you there!!!

Registration is now open, so click the button below to book your spot today! You don’t want to miss it!!!

Here is the race map for the inaugural Fiddlers Fondo: Keppoch’s Highland Grand Gravel Event, showcasing the incredible gravel roads, backcountry scenery, and Highland landscapes riders will experience on July 5.

With route options ranging from the family-friendly Wee Highlander to the challenging 62 km Highlander, there is something for everyone—young and old, experienced cyclists and first-time gravel riders alike. The event is shaping up to be a fun and unique way to kick off Highland Games weekend while showcasing the beauty of the Antigonish Highlands.
