We are so thrilled with the incredible show of support we received at Saint Andrews Night!!! The night opened with some tunes from The Ceilidhmen, a staple of AHS events and a group that is sure to get the night started right! Joe MacDonald then welcomed the attendees and announced the arrival of the Haggis, which was protected on its journey by AHS marshall Alistair Hamilton. Once it was piped in by the legendary Scott Williams, it was given a stirring ode by our own Peter MacKenzie. We then enjoyed a tremendous meal prepared by the wonderful staff of the Charles J Keating Center, including haggis and neeps, a full turkey dinner, and cheesecake.

From there we welcomed numerous highland dancers from several Antigonish Dance Schools, as well as a Gaelic song and square set by Mairi Lambourne and her Grade 4 Gaelic students! We also welcomed our new board members, and honoured a number of attendees with the title of honorary member of the AHS. After sending our farewells to our outgoing board members, we closed the night with a heartwarming rendition of “Country Road”, performed by the world class entertainer known as “William the Cowboy”, and some closing tunes by the Ceilidhmen.

There were so many great people that came to share in the festivities, and from the performers to the attendees to the staff of the KMC, there are certainly many thanks owed to many people. We hope that you had a great night, and we look forward to seeing you all at the many great events the AHS has on tap for 2025!!!
