Raising of the gaelic flag
Our first event, Raising of the Gaelic Flag – May 2nd at 9:15 am at Chisholm Park in Antigonish. We have invited the Mayor of the Town of Antigonish and the Warden of the County of Antigonish to participate & would love to see a good turn out of local Gaidheals. Lewis MacKinnon (Executive Director of the Office of Gaelic Affairs) will offer a few words to the assembled guests and board members. We are really excited to have this happen.
Highland Hike & BBQ
We have a Highland Hike happening on Sunday, May 22nd at 11:00 AM. We will take the less challenging trail and we will have a toast at the at summit to Bàrd na Ceapaich | The Keppoch Bard, Alexander MacDonald.
We will be inviting local Gaelic students and their families to come along. We will then have a bbq back at the lodge.
Everyone is encouraged to wear a tartan. We may be able to get a piper and some entertainment at the lodge but we are still in the planning stages.
There are no fees to attend but donations can be made to the Keppoch Lodge!
Scotch Tasting
On Thursday May 26th, we will have a Scotch tasting and it will run from 6-9pm.
The location is the ECCU Enterprise Centre/Antigonish Legion.
Dave Smith, our local Scotch enthusiast will do a presentation. As yet, we don’t have a finalized list of the whiskeys we’ll be tasting, but will be 4-5 whiskeys to taste.
